Currently studying Media and Communications at Birmingham City University I am hoping to become a professional photographer.

I studied photography for 2 years before attending BCU and I am continuing with it through- out my course. I specialise in portrait photography but also enjoy studio and landscape photography. I like to capture the emotion behind the photograph, promoting feelings and a connection with the subject.  I enjoy working with film and digital cameras, being versatile enables me to use both because of the different tones film photography produces compared to digital.

Photography has always been a passion of mine, I believe I am creative, artistic and appreciate other photographer’s work, to influence my own and learn from them. I want to share my love for photography with prospective clients, and my approach in trying to create images showing emotion and meaning rather than just a pretty picture.

I have recently done 2 weeks of work experience in the industry. I worked for one week in an Art Gallery in Lichfield called De Montfort Fine Art. Here I worked behind the scenes capturing images are artwork to then be edited, embelished and printed to be sold as prints of the original art work.

I then worked for the rest of the summer with a Events Photographer called Viv who has a company in Lichfield called Arc Studios. She mainly does events such as weddings, christenings, parties and corporate events. I chose to work with a photographer that does this sort of work because this is the filed of photography I am interested in pursuing in the future.
